The Uganda Press Photo Award (UPPA) is now accepting entries for the East African Photography Award (EAPA). Visual storytellers from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, and Uganda are invited to participate in this prestigious competition.
Organized by the FOTEA Foundation in partnership with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Uganda and other sponsors, the EAPA aims to highlight documentary photography that showcases people and cultures from an East African perspective.
Entrants can submit single images in three categories:
- Human: Images that speak of people, humanity, and mankind
- Planet: Related to anything to do with our world
- Imagine: For creative, innovative, and experimental images
The story winner will be awarded $1,500 and the single image winner $700.
All shortlisted photographers will be rewarded with a variety of prizes.
The submission deadline is August 10, 2024.
