Kwale County, located in the coastal region of Kenya, is known for its fertile soil and favorable weather conditions, making it a suitable location for growing various crops.  The area receives an average of 700 mm (27 in) of rainfall per year, which is enough to support a variety of crops. Here are the six most valuable crops grown in Kwale county;

  1. Cashew Nuts 

Kwale County is the leading producer of cashew nuts in Kenya, and the crop is one of the main sources of income for many farmers in the region. Cashew nuts grow well in the region due to the warm and humid weather conditions, which provide ideal growing conditions for the nuts. The nuts are grown for their edible kernels, which are used in a variety of dishes, and also for their oil. The nuts are exported to countries such as China and India, where they are used in a variety of products.
